THE 2017 BLAYDON RACE

Organised by Blaydon Harrier and Athletic Club under UK Athletics Laws (UKA Licence No 2017-26840) at 7.15pm on Friday 9 June from Balmbras, Cloth Market, Newcastle upon Tyne along Collingwood Street and Scotswood Road past Armstrongs Factory and over Scotswood Bridge to finish in the Shibdon Road Playing Fields in Blaydon from about 7.40pm (5.6 miles)

Prizes

The Geordie Race

To the First three local lads and lasses £1000, £500 and £400. Awards are designed to encourage local athletics and will only be awarded to 1st claim members of clubs listed in the NE section of the NECAA handbook 2016. In 2016 if you are eligible for the Geordie race you are still included in the open race and can win prizes from both e.g. if a ‘Geordie’ is the first runner home they will win £1000 from the Geordie Race and £600 from the Open Race.

To the first twenty lads and lasses home prizes to the value of  £600, £500, £300, £200, £100, £80, £80, £70, £50, £50, £40, £40, £30, £30, £30, £20, £20, £20, £10, £10
To the first three Gadgies in the age groups 40-49, 50-59, 60+ prizes to the value of £25, £20, £10
To the first three Dames in the age groups 35-44, 45-54, 55+ prizes to the value of £25, £20, £10
To first Gadgie and first Dame overall, £50 added
To the first three young lads and first three young lasses  (16-18) prizes to the value of £30, £20, £10
To the first three non affiliated lads and non affiliated lasses prizes to the value of £30, £20, £10
To the first Blaydon Harrier lad and lass, not otherwise a prizewinner, prizes to the value of £20
To the first male resident and the first female resident of Blaydon and District prizes to the value of £10

To the first three lads teams prizes to the value of (per athlete) £50, £30, £20

ALL Finishers will receive a commemorative certificate, tee-shirt, souvenir programme, local beer, crisps, sandwich and soft drink. Many will receive spot prizes. Results will be on the Results Base website (www.resultsbase.net) and also on this website. Runners have the option to receive an SMS text message with their race time immediately after crossing the finish line (if requested at the point of entry).
